WHY BE ON THE WEB?
Most medium and large businesses consider having a web site to be as much a part of their normal promotions and publicity as having a letterhead, business cards or catalogue.
But even now there are hundreds of thousands of small and micro businesses who have not yet created a website and expanded into the eworld. I think that this is a sad phenomenon because so often it is just those smaller concerns who would most benefit by having a ‘shop front’ open online 24 hours a day year round. Having your own web site is one of the best investments that a business can make. And, that investment does not need to be enormously high.
But the nature of that presence is entirely up to the needs of your business, and the rate at which you wish to expand. Web presence can be as simple as a single page. So long as it gives a brief description of your business, its aim or reason for being, your logo and contact details, then it has fulfilled the first (and I think most important) criteria for presence. You are there.
